Redeeming a Nintendo Gift Card Membership in the USA

Unfortunately, Nintendo Gift Cards are region-locked. This means that a gift card purchased in the USA can only be redeemed on a Nintendo account with a US region setting.

How to Redeem:

1. Ensure Correct Region Setting:

   • Nintendo Switch: Go to your system settings and check the "Country/Region" setting. It should be set to "United States."
   • Nintendo 3DS: Access the "System Settings" menu and find the "Country/Region" option.

2. Open Nintendo eShop:

   • Launch the Nintendo eShop on your console.

3. Access Your Account:

   • Sign in to your Nintendo account.

4. Redeem the Gift Card:

   • Look for the "Redeem Code" option. This is typically found in the main menu or your profile settings.
   • Enter the 16-digit code from your Nintendo Gift Card.

5. Confirm Redemption:

   • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the redemption process. The funds from the gift card will be added to your Nintendo eShop balance.

Important Note: If you're outside the USA and have a US-based Nintendo Gift Card, you may need to create a new Nintendo account with a US region setting to redeem it.
